WWDC is Apple's June ritual — the developers conference where each year's iOS, macOS, and sibling releases are unveiled and the platforms' direction is set. Its keynotes carry as much history as any product launch: Mac OS X, Swift, the Apple silicon transition (2020), Apple Vision Pro (2023), Apple Intelligence (2024), and Liquid Glass with the version-26 renumbering (2025).

Since 2020 WWDC is free and online — pre-recorded keynotes, hundreds of session videos, and virtual labs — with an in-person special event day at Apple Park for invited developers and Swift Student Challenge winners. WWDC26 (June 8, 2026) introduced the version-27 platforms arriving in the fall. The conference remains the ecosystem's true annual meeting: the week the App Store economy learns what next year's devices will do.
