Apple News+ is the paid tier of Apple News: hundreds of magazines and several major newspapers behind one subscription, built from the acquired "Netflix of magazines," Texture. It sells bundle economics to an industry that resisted them — full issues, formatted for the iPad and iPhone, with Apple as the privacy-preserving middleman that never hands publishers the reader.
News+ has grown by accretion rather than headlines: audio stories, daily crossword and games, sports scores, and food coverage folded in over the years, making it the quiet magazine rack of Apple One Premier. Its tension is structural — publishers want readers and data, Apple offers reach and anonymity — and its steadiest audience is the one that already lived in Apple News for free.
