Conquest War is the weekly siege in Black Desert, fought between guilds for whole territories rather than for single nodes. It replaces the nightly node wars on Saturdays and runs for two hours.
Three territories are contested, of which Balenos is the entry bracket and Valencia the middle one, while Mediah has no restriction on the equipment a guild may bring and is where the strongest guilds meet.
The scale is the difference. A node pays a guild well; a territory pays several times more, and the guild that takes one becomes its lord for the week with the tax revenue and the standing that go with it.
1 Getting in✎
A guild cannot simply sign up. It must already have won something during the week, holding a node of the second tier or better in the ordinary node wars. That makes the Saturday siege the top of a ladder rather than a separate event.
It must then commit money. A Field HQ or a Command Post has to be installed at least an hour before the war begins, and either costs a billion silver whether the guild wins or loses.
The two are not interchangeable. A Field HQ allows more annexes to be built in defense and fewer in attack, and a Command Post reverses that, so the choice states what a guild intends to do before the fighting starts.
2 Winning✎
The shape of the war depends on whether anyone already holds the territory.
Against a defender, every attacking guild works toward the same goal: destroy the defending headquarters inside the two hours. The defense wins simply by still standing at the end.
With no defender, the guilds fight each other until one structure is left. If more than one survives the two hours, the result is decided on points instead.
3 Taxes and the security budget✎
The prize is the territory's accumulated taxes, and the sums involved are the largest in the game.
A new lord does not collect all of it. Half the first week's tax is withheld as a security budget. The share withheld falls with each consecutive week held, until a guild that has kept the territory for five weeks running receives all of it.
That mechanism rewards holding ground rather than taking it. A guild that wins once and loses the territory the following Saturday collects far less than one that quietly defends the same ground for over a month.
Members share in it too, and everyone in the victorious guild carries combat buffs lasting most of the following week.
