JPMorgan Chase Tower is one of several names given to office buildings owned or occupied by JPMorgan Chase, along with the shorter Chase Tower, which is the most frequently used of these names. Related names include JPMorgan Chase Building and the newer one-word forms JPMorganChase Tower and JPMorganChase Center.
The name JPMorgan Chase Tower has been used for the 75-story tower at 600 Travis Street in Houston and the former 1960 building at 270 Park Avenue in New York City. The Houston building was formally renamed JPMorgan Chase & Co. Tower in 2021 but remains widely known by the shorter name. The New York building was demolished between 2019 and 2021.
The one-word form JPMorganChase Tower belongs to the replacement at 270 Park Avenue, the bank's global headquarters since 2025. It uses the company's newer one-word corporate styling. The same styling appears in San Francisco, where the former JPMorgan Chase Building at 560 Mission Street is now called JPMorganChase Center.
Many buildings acquired a Chase name through mergers that brought the institutions for which they had originally been built into JPMorgan Chase's corporate lineage: Chicago's Chase Tower, built for the First National Bank of Chicago, and Phoenix's Chase Tower, built for Valley National Bank. Houston combines this pattern with a later tenancy arrangement: it was built for Texas Commerce Bancshares, which later became part of JPMorgan Chase, and regained a Chase name after the bank returned as an anchor tenant. The new New York headquarters, by contrast, was commissioned and built specifically for JPMorgan Chase.

Two successive buildings on the same block have carried closely related names. Through a chain of mergers, the 1960 Union Carbide Building became JPMorgan Chase's global headquarters and was also known as the JPMorgan Chase Tower. The bank demolished it between 2019 and 2021. Its replacement on the same site opened in 2025 under the one-word name JPMorganChase Tower.
Both buildings are usually called 270 Park Avenue instead, after the address, which is how the bank itself generally refers to the site. When both are discussed together, their construction years are needed to distinguish them.
The Houston tower at 600 Travis Street rises 1,002 feet and 75 stories. It was the tallest building in Texas from its topping out in 1981 until Austin's Waterline topped out in 2025, and is now the second tallest.
It opened in 1982 as the Texas Commerce Tower, designed by I. M. Pei & Partners. Its five-sided plan, including a single sheer glass wall, has led it to be described as the tallest five-sided building in the world. The design was reduced from a planned 80 floors after the Federal Aviation Administration determined that the additional height would pose a hazard to air navigation. It has also traded under the shorter name Chase Tower.
Hines developed the building for Texas Commerce Bancshares, which later became part of JPMorgan Chase. The Chase name returned in 2021 after the bank signed a 250,000-square-foot lease and became an anchor tenant. The owners formally renamed it JPMorgan Chase & Co. Tower, although the shorter JPMorgan Chase Tower remains widely used.
The Dallas tower at 2200 Ross Avenue was also built as a Texas Commerce Tower, finished in 1987 to a design by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill. It is 55 stories and 738 feet tall, with a curved glass crown and a six-story opening cut through the building near the top, which is why locals call it the Keyhole Building.
It was later known as JPMorgan Chase Tower and then Chase Tower. After JPMorgan Chase moved out, it was renamed the Dallas Arts Tower.
The 31-story building at 560 Mission Street was completed in 2002 to a design by César Pelli & Associates. It stands 420 feet tall and was long known as the JPMorgan Chase Building, although the bank occupied it as a tenant rather than owning it.
JPMorgan Chase expanded its offices in the building and established it as its local headquarters. In 2025, it was renamed JPMorganChase Center using the company's newer one-word styling. The building is owned and managed by CommonWealth Partners, with JPMorgan Chase as its principal tenant.
The wider group includes a long list of buildings called simply Chase Tower. The Chicago tower at 10 South Dearborn is 60 stories and 850 feet tall. It was finished in 1969 for the First National Bank of Chicago, later became Bank One Tower, and took the Chase name in 2005 after Bank One merged with JPMorgan Chase. It remains the bank's Chicago headquarters.
Phoenix and Milwaukee also retain the Chase Tower name, although the Phoenix building has stood empty since the bank completed its move to a campus in Tempe in 2021. Several other former Chase Towers have been renamed: the Detroit tower is now The Qube, the El Paso tower is One San Jacinto Plaza, the Indianapolis tower is Salesforce Tower, the Oklahoma City tower is BancFirst Tower, and the Rochester tower is The Metropolitan.
