Watch faces are the [[Apple Watch]]'s home screen and its fashion statement — the dials, complications, and animations that make one Watch look like a diver's tool and another like a Snoopy cartoon. Apple designs every face itself; watchOS has never allowed third-party faces, making the catalog one of the platform's firmest walls.

The library spans utilitarian faces dense with complications (Modular, the [[Apple S4|Series 4]]-era Infograph), typographic designs (California, Typograph), photographic and generative faces (Portraits, Kaleidoscope), and licensed characters — Mickey, Toy Story, and the beloved Snoopy of watchOS 10. Complications, inherited in name from horology, put third-party data on Apple's dials — the compromise position for a platform that won't share the canvas itself. watchOS 26 carried the family into the Liquid Glass era alongside the other platforms' redesigns.

Faces are where the Watch's jewelry and computer identities meet, and the no-third-party rule is the product's longest-running debate: Apple argues battery, legibility, and taste; developers see the platform's most personal surface closed to them. Each September's new faces function as the Watch's fashion season.
