The Apple S6 rebuilt the Watch's processor on the [[Apple A13]] generation's efficiency cores — about twenty percent faster while charging the Series 6 in half the time. It brought the [[Apple U1|U1]] ultra-wideband chip and 5 GHz Wi-Fi to the wrist and ran the always-on altimeter and blood-oxygen sensing that headlined the Series 6.
= Legacy =
The S6's A13-derived dual-core turned out to be Apple's watch workhorse: the [[Apple S7|S7]] and [[Apple S8|S8]] reused it essentially unchanged, making this the architecture that carried the Apple Watch for three straight generations until the [[Apple S9|S9]]'s big rebuild.
