Apple silicon Navbox
The Apple A18 and A18 Pro powered the "Built for Apple Intelligence" iPhone 16 generation from September 2024 — the year the whole lineup returned to current-generation silicon because the AI floor (8 GB of RAM, current Neural Engine) demanded it. The base A18 brought ray tracing and a 30/40% CPU/GPU jump to the $799 tier; the A18 Pro added a six-core GPU, bigger caches, and the bandwidth behind 4K 120 video.

The A18 family made AI-readiness the baseline across every tier — extended by the iPhone 16e's binned variant to $599 — and its Pro/base split settled into the lineup's standing silicon grammar.
