tvOS 10 is the second release of tvOS, shipped September 13, 2016. Dark mode arrived (years before iOS), single sign-on promised one cable login for every TV-provider app, HomeKit brought scenes and accessories to the living room, and Siri learned topic search ("find high school comedies from the '80s") and live-channel tuning.

A settling-in year: dark mode became the platform's signature look, and single sign-on's slow adoption previewed the industry politics the TV app would fight for years.
