watchOS 11 is the eleventh release of watchOS, shipped September 16, 2024. Training Load brought seven-versus-twenty-eight-day effort tracking with per-workout effort ratings, and the Vitals app baselined overnight metrics (heart rate, respiration, temperature, sleep duration) to flag outlier days — together the platform's most Garmin-shaped health-analytics step. The rings finally learned mercy: rest days, ring pausing, and per-day goal customization ended the streak tyranny after nine years of complaints.
Training Load; Vitals; pause/rest days and customizable ring schedules; the Smart Stack's live activities and suggested widgets; Translate on watch; Check In from the wrist; the Photos face's machine-curated styling; ticket enhancements in Wallet; and pregnancy adjustments in Cycle Tracking.
Training Load and Vitals moved the watch from recording to coaching — the analytic turn watchOS 26's AI Workout Buddy then personified — and pausable rings fixed the platform's most human bug: software that punished being sick. It closed the sequential numbering before the jump to 26.
